A pioneer in the field of Intuitive Environmental Living, Ann Marie Holmes has been teaching for more than two decades. She explains how our living and working environments impact us.
As a young adult, she had an experience that opened up her understanding and bond with the environment. It grew out of early morning walks in her suburban neighborhood with her dog trekking around an old estate being developed into home sites.
She lingered in this Secret Garden for a blissful half-hour each morning, and for those moments in the early morning there were no owners or boundaries, just a sense of the oneness of all life.
A book on Findhorn came to her, she read it and made arrangements to move to Scotland to work and study with this remarkable group of people
At Findhorn, she found language to describe the presence that she’d instinctively felt in places like her 'secret garden'. She was the focalizer of cleaning for two years.
She moved back to Oregon where she and her husband Ray created a five acre nature sanctuary, "Fir Haven," outside of Eugene where they built a home using Feng Shui principles as well as earth based ceremonies and attitudes, Fir Haven was a successful eleven year research project on co-creating with nature. She now resides in Hawaii, and works with both islanders and those abroad.
